If parser errors occur during the trial, or if the generated ZUGFeRD data is not fully correct, you should not purchase a license or subscription and should use a native e-invoicing solution instead.

✅ Convert PDF to e-invoice – controlled and review-required

Can a PDF invoice be an e-invoice? A standard PDF alone is not a structured e-invoice. However, a PDF/ZUGFeRD e-invoice combines a visually readable PDF file with an embedded XML dataset. For suitable, machine-readable PDF invoices, the 7-PDF Workflow can support the AI-assisted creation of a review-required PDF/ZUGFeRD e-invoice with embedded XML.

❌ Classification: PDF is not automatically an e-invoice

A standard PDF alone is generally not sufficiently machine-readable. However, when a PDF/A-3b document is combined with a matching ZUGFeRD XML, a PDF/ZUGFeRD e-invoice can be created, which must then be checked manually. Suitable source data and careful review of the generated XML content are required.

🔍 PDF/ZUGFeRD: visible PDF plus embedded XML

A PDF/ZUGFeRD file contains an embedded XML in addition to the visible PDF invoice. This XML can be read by suitable validation, ERP or DMS systems. The 7-PDF Workflow supports creation or embedding in a controlled process; the result must then be checked.
